Yesterday, a delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Administration of Culture of Mangistau region in the person of the head of the administration of Paniya Sarmurzin and cultural figures, government employees, journalists of leading media and entrepreneurs in the amount of 150 people arrived in Khorezm province. The head of the department of culture of the Khorezm region Sh. Yakhshbaev and colleagues from the Hakimiyat of Khorezm solemnly met them in Urgench.
Guests in the Khokimiyat of the Khrzemsky region signed a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of culture and art. We negotiated further cooperation between the countries.
In the afternoon the guests visited the city of Khiva and the open-air museum "Ichan-Kal'a". Scientific staff of the museum conducted a sightseeing tour in the historical part of the city. The guests were especially interested in the madrasah of Shirgazihan. Since the historical information in this madrassah was taught by Beket Myrzagul-uly, better known as Becket-ata and Pir Becket (1750-1813) - the famous Kazakh religious figure-Sufi, enlightener and batyr, revered as a saint.
Today, between the director of the Mangistau regional museum of local history Tamara Zhumaliev and the director of the State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve "Ichan-Kala" in the city of Khiva in the person of Matyakubov Shanazar there will be a memorandum on mutual cooperation between the museums.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to encourage and develop cooperation in the field of culture between countries.
